Registered Master Builders HOUSE OF THE YEAR 2015 renovation award winner.
An award-winning renovation designed for comfort and accessibility
After living in their Wilton home since the 1980s, the owners were ready to update the property and make it better suited to the years ahead.
Following a word-of-mouth referral, they approached Scotty’s Construction to renovate the home with a focus on comfort, accessibility and long-term practicality.
The project involved rewiring the entire house and installing an elevator imported from Japan, allowing the owners to continue moving easily between all three levels of the property.
Wheelchair-friendly showers were also added, while the ground floor was opened up to improve accessibility and circulation through the home.
Alongside these changes, the house received important performance upgrades. New insulation and retrofitted double glazing helped create a warmer and more comfortable living environment while the interior was refreshed with modern features.
Renovations like this demonstrate how an existing home can be adapted to changing needs without requiring its owners to leave a property they know and value.
The completed Wilton renovation created a warmer, more accessible home designed to support the owners well into the future.
The project was recognised at the 2015 Registered Master Builders House of the Year Awards, receiving an award for renovation.
