Scotty’s Construction – McKeefry Dental Build Fit-out Project

McKeefry Dental

A complex dental clinic fit-out in Wellington

The McKeefry Dental project involved a substantial expansion and fit-out of an operating Wellington dental practice.

With specialist equipment, technical installations and neighbouring tenants to consider, careful planning was essential from the outset. Scotty’s Construction worked with specialist trades to coordinate the installation of equipment including dental chairs, pumps and signage, while much of the construction work was completed during night shifts to minimise disruption.

During the day, a temporary false wall allowed the dental practice to remain operational while construction continued behind it.

The fit-out created new dental surgeries, an office, a lunch room and a recovery area, more than doubling the size of the existing practice.

Working within an active healthcare environment required close coordination and careful sequencing. The team needed to manage construction activity around patients, staff and neighbouring businesses while ensuring specialist services and equipment could be installed correctly.

In the final week, work continued around the clock to meet the project deadline.

The completed fit-out delivered a significantly larger, modernised practice and demonstrates Scotty’s Construction’s ability to manage technically demanding commercial projects where programme, specialist installations and ongoing business operations all need to be carefully balanced.
