National & Regional Master Builders HOUSE OF THE YEAR 2015 New Home award winner.
An award-winning bespoke home and studio in Lower Hutt
This Korokoro project was designed as a high-end family home that would be as enjoyable to live in as it was carefully crafted.
Working alongside Parsonson Architects, Scotty’s Construction built the five-bedroom home together with a self-contained studio, creating a property that provides generous family living alongside flexible additional space.
The interior combines polished concrete floors with natural timber, bringing together contrasting textures and materials throughout the home. Large sliding doors open the living spaces to the surrounding outlook, maximising views and strengthening the connection between the interior and the landscape.
Close collaboration was an important part of the build. The owners chose Scotty’s Construction for the team’s passion and enthusiasm and valued being closely involved throughout the construction process.
For bespoke architectural homes, that relationship between client, architect and builder plays an important role in translating the original design into a finished home. Details, materials and construction decisions need to be carefully coordinated while keeping the overall design intent intact.
The completed Korokoro home was recognised at the 2015 Registered Master Builders House of the Year Awards, receiving National and Regional awards for best new home.
